GCG Goalie of the Week Jared DeMichiel (RIT)

Senior goaltender Jared DeMichiel picked up his seventh consecutive win, stopping 21 shots against Sacred Heart and leading his team into first place in the Atlantic Division. DeMichiel has allowed just seven goals in his last nine games and currently posts a .913 saves percentage.

11.7.09 Goalie Report

Last week I went to Sweden to work a camp with Magnus Olsson. It was a great week and I really enjoyed my time with the Swedish goalies. I thought the younger group goalies were more independent than the North American goalies and I was impressed with their ability to follow directions. I thought the older goalies worked hard and had a solid technical base. Down low they were very strong but I thought a greater emphasis on glove and blocker work could be benificial. Trip To Canada

Hey... I´m going to Canada.
Meetings with GCG member M. Champagne in MTL and also a few members of the Quebec Remparts.
Trying to set up an interview with Beniot Fortier of The Remparts.
Check back for that.
Mr. Champagne wanted me to join him at his High School program so actually get some ice as well!!!

Fansday at the rink.

Frölunda hosted the fans day at the rink today.
Many fans went although the rain was pouring down...
Joel Lundqvist and his friends were handing out autographs and players cards to the kids.
The team also had a open practice and there was about 1000 people in the stands.
Joel out again with a shoulder injury but coach Ulf Dahlen said that doesnt bother him.
"Them team has many leaders and strong caracters to build on" He said to the local paper.

Frölunda

Frölunda was back on the ice after a few days off.

Joel Lundqvist has returnd to the lineup after his shoulderinjury. As you know Joel is the brother of King Henrik.

PJ is adjusting to the big ice. There is a lot of room hes says smiling.

The practice was videotaped by a goalie coach and a lot of attention was paid to rebounds.
